Measurement of Two-Photon Absorption in Porous Silicon Waveguides at 1550 nm

Abstract: We report a measurement of the two-photon absorption coefficient in a nanoporous silicon optical waveguide at 1550 nm. Although the waveguide is approximately 70% porous, it exhibits nonlinear absorption comparable to that of silicon waveguides.
